Never pour chemicals or used oil
on the ground, in the gutter, or down the storm drain.
Batteries, paint, solvents, pesticides, anti-freeze, household
cleaners, and other household and business chemicals need to be
disposed properly at an authorized hazardous waste collection
center. Used oil can be brought to one of the facilities listed
below.

South Coast businesses
(located in Gaviota, Isla Vista, Goleta, Greater Santa Barbara,
Montecito, and unincorporated areas of the county around these
areas) and Santa Ynez
Valley business may use the Community
Hazardous Waste Collection Center at UCSB. For information
or appointments, call Jody Rundle (805) 882-3602. Spanish
speaking callers: (805) 882-3637.
Santa Maria and Carpinteria businesses may use
UCSB Center with 30% surcharge. Carpinteria businesses may use
the Carpinteria ABOP Facility, for
antifreeze, batteries, oil and water based paint only (for other
